Zoo - Fort Worth Style

Yep, We had a big Saturday. It started out with eating breakfast at the Original Pancake House with Uncle Dirk, Uncle Michael, Aunt Sarah, Logan and Seth.

Once Ellorah had a full tummy off to Fort Worth we went.

When we got to the Zoo, Ellorah was ready to see the animals. We went all over the zoo. They have a bird sanctuary that you can go into and feed parakeets. Since Ellorah loves birds, we had to go in. When you enter the bird pen, you can purchase a popsicle stick that has bird seed stuck to it at one end. What is a Dad to do? Yea, I bought one and Ellorah and I were off to feed the wild parakeets. There were all sorts of them flying around and they were all different colors. There were some that had no feathers on top of their heads and others had a lot. We stuck out the stick to try and get some birds attention, and eventually had one land on the stick next to my fingers and ate the seed off the stick. Ellorah thought that was the neatest thing having a bird inches away from her little hands. She finally mustered up the courage to try and touch the bird. She was able to run her hand down the back of the bird and then the bird flew away only to make Ellorah even more happy. Ellorah loves to look at birds especially in flight.

The Meerkats were also a big hit with Ellorah.Meerkats have a lot of personality, and are fun to watch as they run around hiding in holes and jumping on logs. I think the meerkats were Ellorah's favorite of the day, because when she saw them she started to scream and yell in a good fun way. Who doesn't like cute little animals like these two?

Overall the best part of the day was spending time with my wonderful wife and daughter.

If you click on the flamingo, you will see more photos from the trip to the zoo.
